Iranian ‘The Wound’ to compete at Women Int’l filmfest Nigeria

Iranian short film ‘The Wound’ is to compete at the 2022 Women Int’l filmfest Nigeria.

Iranian short film ‘The Wound’ has been selected to compete at the first edition of the Women International Film Festival Nigeria (WIFFEN).

Directed by Sahar Nourmonavvar, the short film is about a 9-year-old girl who loses her family due to an earthquake.

The cast members of ‘The Wound’ include Vaniz Afzali and Alireza Labibian.

The short film has previously participated in several international film festivals including The Media Film Festival (MFF) in the US, the D.C. Independent Film Forum (DCIFF) in the US, the Earl’s Court International Film Festival in London, the Red Rock Film Festival in the US, the Utah Film Market in the US, and the Festival Internacional de Cortometraje UVAQ in Mexico.

According to the official website of WIFFEN, “the goal is to celebrate women in film around the world. The festival was birthed out of the desire to build a community of female filmmakers supporting and empowering one another to grow and thrive in the global film industry”.

The event will be held on March 4 and 5, 2022.
